Seaboard Foods receives national worker safety award
The American Meat Institute (AMI) recognized the Seaboard Foods Guymon Plant with an Award of Honor for its safety record during the AMI-National Safety Council Worker Safety Recognition Awards.
SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. (April 28, 2008) — The American Meat Institute (AMI) recognized the Seaboard Foods Guymon Plant with an Award of Honor for its safety record during the AMI-National Safety Council Worker Safety Recognition Awards. AMI and the National Safety Council recognizes the efforts of meat packing and processing plants across the country to improve safety performance through the establishment of sound safety and health programs and to achieve a high level of safety performance as part of the continuing effort to reduce occupational injury and illness throughout the industry. “Providing our employees with a safe working environment is a top priority for Seaboard Foods,” says Rod Brenneman, Seaboard Foods president and CEO. “We’re honored to be recognized for our commitment to ongoing employee safety training, continuous worker safety improvement and the rigorous safety systems we have applied in the Guymon plant.” To receive the award, National Safety Council experts analyzed the Guymon plant’s actual safety performance and the implementation of various key components of effective safety and health programs.
